Dr Bernard Lising, BSc.(Med), M.B.,B.S. (U.N.S.W.) FANZCA
Dr Bernard Lising, BSc.(Med), M.B.,B.S. (U.N.S.W.) FANZCA graduated from the University of New South Wales in Sydney in 1996. He undertook his Postgraduate training at St George Hospital in Sydney, with rotations to Sutherland Hospital, Canberra Hospital, St Vincent’s Hospital (Cardiothoracic Transplant Program), The Royal Women’s Hospital, and Westmead Children’s Hospital. He completed his Provisional Fellowship in Neuroanaesthesia and Difficult Airway Management at the prestigious Nuffield Department of Anaesthetics in Oxford, England and has practiced as a Specialist Anaesthetist since gaining his Fellowship to the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists in 2005.
Dr Lising currently has appointments at Norwest Private Hospital, Westmead Private Hospital, St George Private Hospital, Castle Hill Day Surgery, Sydney IVF Norwest, Westmed Day Surgery, CityWest Day Surgery, and The Skin and Cancer Foundation, and as a Visiting Medical Officer at Blacktown and Mt Druitt Hospitals, which are teaching hospitals of the University of Sydney and Western Sydney.
Career related interests include the role of Information Technology in anaesthesia and its implementation in patient care.
Dr Lising provides anaesthesia and acute pain management including ultrasound guided regional anaesthesia for a diverse range of surgical specialties including orthopaedic surgery, general and laparoscopic surgery, urological surgery including laser procedures, thoracic surgery, opthalmological surgery, breast cancer surgery, endocrine surgery, plastic surgery including cosmetic surgery, ENT and dental surgery including paediatric patients, IVF procedures, and laparoscopic gynaecologic and obstetric surgery. He also provides an epidural pain relief service for women in labour at Norwest Private Hospital.
